Local award-winning author Cheryl Sternman Rule is proud to discuss all things yogurt as she celebrates her second cookbook, Yogurt Culture. Prepare for an evening of tasting, learning, and inspiration as Rule explores one of the world's oldest (and most healthful!) fermented foods from every angle -- sharing stories from her travels; tips and tricks on homemade yogurtmaking; and how to use store-bought plain yogurt in easy sweet and savory recipes. Cheryl Sternman Rule is an award-winning food writer and cookbook author. Her newest cookbook, Yogurt Culture: How to Make, Bake, Sip, and Chill the World's Creamiest, Healthiest Food (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), was published in April 2015. Cherylís first cookbook, RIPE: A Fresh, Colorful Approach to Fruits and Vegetables, was published in 2012.
Cheryl has been writing professionally since 2004. Her work has appeared in Cooking Light, Sunset, Health, Womenís Health, EatingWell, Vegetarian Times, the San Jose Mercury News, Edible Silicon Valley, The Kitchn, and more.
She is the voice behind the food blog 5 Second Rule, winner of both Saveur Magazineís Readersí Choice Award for Best Food Blog in the writing category (2014) and the International Association of Culinary Professionalsí Award for Best Culinary Blog (2012).
