How To Play
The Kids Count Time Program is geared towards children ages 4 through grade 5 who are independently reading.

Program Goal: To encourage and foster the enjoyment of reading over the course of the summer.

Child’s Goal: To read 60 hours over the course of the 9 week program.

To participate in this program, do the following:

  1. Start by clicking “Sign Up” and register by typing in your child’s info (name, age, school, etc.)

  2. Check out books from the library and read them.

  3. Log in to your summer reading account and record the title and author of each book read. How to Track Your Reading Time:
    • .25 means that you read a book for 15 minutes
    • .50 means that you read a book for 30 minutes
    • .75 means that you read a book for 45 minutes
    • 1 means that you read a book for 1 hour
    • 2 means that you read a book for 2 hours
    • If you read for 2 and ½ hours enter 2.5 in Quantity

  4. When a prize banner appears on your account, please return to the library to report on the books and claim a prize. Reporting is optional but HIGHLY encouraged. The banner will appear when the child has reached these levels:
    • 15 hours = Carnival Prize
    • 30 hours = Carnival Prize
    • 45 hours = Free Book!
    • 60 hours = Medal, City Council Night Invitation
